Job summary

Black & White Engineering in Manila is expanding its Global Engineering Team (GET) and seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support global projects, technical reviews, and the development of company-wide design standards.

You will review Stage 2 and Stage 3 designs for compliance, develop technical standards, assist bid evaluations, and produce data centre layouts while strengthening BIM processes across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Mechanical Engineer preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in a multidisciplinary design consultancy environment.
• Experience on large-scale projects; data centre experience is an advantage.
• Proficient in chilled/heating water systems, ventilation systems, and fuel systems.
• Knowledge of sanitary/plumbing and fire protection systems is an advantage.
• Experience with HAP, PipeFlo, Navis, Bluebeam, or equivalent software.
• Working knowledge of British Standards and international mechanical design codes.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review Stage 2 and Stage 3 design developments to ensure compliance with BWE Brand Design Standards.
• Develop and maintain company-wide technical standards, design guides, and knowledge bases.
• Support bid reviews and technical proposal evaluations.
• Prepare flexible data centre test-fit layouts and efficient plant distribution plans.
• Strengthen BIM standards and processes for global projects.
• Support R&D initiatives by evaluating emerging technologies and engineering solutions.
• Perform mechanical engineering calculations and technical studies.
