Job summary

Coherent Corp. Philippines is seeking a hands-on Mechanical and Automation Engineer to design fixture and automation solutions for production lines. You will test and verify designs with engineers, and develop user-friendly workstations with integrated software interfaces to automate processes.

The ideal candidate has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in related fields, with strong CAD skills, cleanroom experience, and knowledge of LabVIEW or C/C++.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering; physics or electrical variants acceptable.
• 5+ years in Mechanical and Automation Engineering or related electronics.
• Proven CAD proficiency with Autodesk and SolidWorks.
• Cleanroom experience and laser/optical systems knowledge.
• Automation or electrical design and optical fixture design is a plus.
• Strong mechanical design experience with equipment and fixtures.
• Good electrical circuit knowledge and automation principles.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Filipino communication.

Responsibilities

• Fixture design and automated station design; test and verify with process engineers.
• Author machine operating instructions and maintain maintenance docs.
• Lead set-up of assembly/test stations and user-friendly interfaces.
• Develop automation solutions for production, including data gathering/reporting.
• Train engineers, technicians, and operators on new equipment and processes.
• Support vendor qualification and new equipment installation.
