BBC Manila Marine Engineering Services is seeking a Senior Naval Architect - Marine Transportation in Manila to lead heavy-lift and offshore transport projects. You will handle cargo securing, stability, mooring analyses, and transport engineering across tendering, FEED and final design stages.
The role requires deep knowledge of vessel motions, stability, and structural strength, with hands-on experience in AutoCAD and at least one vessel motion/MRA software (ABB OCTOPUS, DNV SIMA, MOSES).
We are looking for a Senior Naval Architect - Marine Transportation with strong experience in heavy lift & offshore transport engineering, naval architecture, vessel motions, cargo securing, stability, mooring, and structural strength. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from tendering and FEED through transport concept development and final engineering design.
Prepare vessel cargo stowage plans and heavy-lift transport concepts.
Support project tenders, FEED and concept engineering.
Perform and interpret vessel motion response analysis and translate motions into design accelerations and forces.
Perform vessel stability and ballasting calculations.
Perform/review dynamic mooring analyses.
Develop cargo securing, weight-spreading and structural arrangements.
Perform structural strength assessments using principles of strength of materials and structural mechanics.
Prepare final transport manuals, method statements, securing arrangements and engineering calculations.
Apply IMO, DNV Rules for Ships and DNV-ST-N001 requirements to cargo securing, accelerations, strength, weather windows and operational limits.
5-10+ years in marine transportation, naval architecture, heavy-lift or marine structural engineering.
Proven experience preparing cargo vessel stowage plans.
Experience with heavy-lift/project cargo ocean transportation.
Strong understanding of vessel motions, accelerations, stability and structural strength.
Strong working knowledge of IMO, DNV Rules for Ships and DNV-ST-N001.
Experience with dynamic mooring analysis.
Ability to independently develop final transport engineering solutions.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
At least one vessel motion/MRA software: ABB OCTOPUS, DNV SIMA, MOSES, or equivalent.
At least one dynamic mooring software: Optimoor, OrcaFlex, ANSYS AQWA, or equivalent.
