Job summary

SMEC is seeking a senior structural engineer to perform and review advanced calculations for waterfront infrastructure and to act as Engineer of Record through project lifecycles from concept to decommissioning. You will conduct on-site inspections to ensure design conformance and contribute to proposals, budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review advanced structural calculations for waterfront assets such as jetties, piers, wharves, berthing/mooring dolphins, and breakwaters.
• Act as the Engineer of Record (EoR), owning regulatory and technical aspects over project lifecycles from conceptual engineering to construction.
• Conduct field inspections to assess structural integrity and verify conformance to design drawings.
• Author technical proposals, manage project scopes, monitor budgets and schedules, and mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with coastal engineers, geologists, environmental teams, and marine contractors to optimize constructability in subsea environments.
