Job summary

SMEC is seeking a senior structural engineer to perform and review advanced calculations for waterfront infrastructure and to act as Engineer of Record through project lifecycles from concept to decommissioning. You will conduct on-site inspections to ensure design conformance and contribute to proposals, budgets and schedules.

Structural Engineering & Analysis

Perform and review advanced structural calculations for waterfront assets such as jetties, piers, wharves, berthing/mooring dolphins, and breakwaters.

Project Leadership

Act as the Engineer of Record (EoR), taking full regulatory and technical ownership over project lifecycles from conceptual engineering to construction and decommissioning.

Site & Field Reviews

Conduct field inspections to assess structural integrity, verify that construction conforms to design drawings, and make high-level decisions on material or design deviations on-site.

Project & Team Management

Author comprehensive technical proposals, manage project scopes, monitor budgets and schedules, and mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers.

Multi-disciplinary Coordination

Collaborate closely with coastal engineers, geologists, environmental teams, and marine contractors to optimize constructability in subsea environments.
