Senior Linux Administrator
Location: Alabang, Muntinlupa, Philippines

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior OS Administrator – Linux to provide technical leadership and advanced administration of enterprise Linux platforms across on-premises, virtualized, and cloud environments.

The role is responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, performance, availability, and continuous improvement of Linux infrastructure supporting a global environment across Europe, Asia, the United States, Latin America, and Canada.

The successful candidate will handle complex technical incidents, major changes, system recovery, automation, platform lifecycle activities, security hardening, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating with infrastructure, cloud, security, network, application, database, and service delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for enterprise Linux infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Administer, configure, harden, monitor, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux servers and operating systems.
• Lead resolution of complex and major incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Plan and execute OS patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, backup validation, disaster recovery, and server lifecycle activities.
• Develop automation and configuration-management solutions using Ansible, Bash, Python, and other Linux-supported technologies.
• Perform system performance, capacity, availability, security, and log analysis.
• Manage Linux storage environments, including SAN, LVM, and dm-multipath.
• Support virtualization platforms such as VMware and KVM.
• Provide technical support for AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• Contribute to cloud governance, automation, cost optimization, platform standards, and technology roadmaps.
• Collaborate with application, database, middleware, network, security, cloud, vendors, and service delivery teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, inventories, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other OS administrators and support personnel.
• Participate in shifting schedules, on-call rotation, after-hours support, and planned maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with IT security, data center, cloud governance, SLA, and KPI requirements.

Technical Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, with at least 7 years of hands-on Linux administration experience.
• Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and experience with other Linux distributions such as SUSE, Ubuntu, Rocky, and AlmaLinux.
• Strong experience in:
  • Linux installation, configuration, provisioning, patching, and troubleshooting
  • System performance and kernel tuning

  • Backup and disaster recovery
• Experience with LVM, SAN, dm-multipath, and enterprise storage environments.

• Experience with Linux services such as NFS, CIFS, FTP, syslog, SNMP, and related services.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with VMware and/or KVM virtualization.
• Knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP.
• Understanding of IT security, vulnerability management, and OS patching.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completed Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible (RH294) training.
• Completed Red Hat Satellite 6 Administration (RH403) training.
• Completed AZ-104 and AZ-305 training.
• Relevant certifications in Linux, Red Hat, Azure, AWS, automation, security, or IT service management are an advantage.
• Knowledge of ITIL framework.
