Job summary

Manila Water is seeking a licensed lawyer with extensive experience to provide comprehensive legal support across labor, regulatory, and commercial matters. The role includes drafting and negotiating contracts, representing the company in litigation, and advising on compliance with government agencies and regulators. Mergers and acquisitions exposure is a plus.

The ideal candidate will join a dynamic team in Manila, contributing to risk mitigation and strategic business decisions.

Qualifications

• Licensed lawyer with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience, including at least 3-5 years in a publicly listed company.
• Experience in mergers and acquisitions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides legal opinion on all matters relating to the business, including labor and management issues and concerns.
• Drafts, reviews and assists in negotiating agreements/contracts that may be required in the business.
• Attends to cases in litigation, including appearances in court or other government agencies.
• Advises and represents the company before government agencies, such as regulators, judicial and quasi-judicial bodies, and legislative bodies
• Supports the business in managing and mitigating legal, regulatory, and commercial risks and assist in implementing solutions and compliance
• Drafts, reviews and assists in the negotiation of contracts and other legal documents ensuring always that the interest of the business is amply protected
