Job summary

GCash, part of Mynt, is seeking an experienced IT Operations professional to own investigation, incident response, and observability across cloud-native services in the Philippines. You will drive root-cause analysis, document war-room outcomes, and lead post-incident knowledge updates.

The role emphasizes automation, tool development with Python, and a strong transition of services to production with robust runbooks and training for L1/L2 teams. A senior, independent contributor is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• 7+ years in IT application support, SRE, DevOps, software development, or related tech operations.
• 3+ years in senior L2/L3 or equivalent production support in a high-traffic, cloud-native environment.
• Ability to work independently and interface with senior engineers and stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux, relational databases, Kubernetes, and ITSM.
• Ability to read and navigate application source code for root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Independently investigate escalated incidents using logs, traces, and queries; drill down to code when needed.
• Replicate production issues end-to-end and document root causes with impact and blast radius.
• Propose fixes with clear, actionable directions for delivery teams.
• Raise precise bugs with reproduction steps, evidence, and recommended solutions.
• Collaborate with Dev, QA, and architects to drive solutions to production and close the loop.
