N-iX is seeking a Senior Back-End Engineer to design, build and operate Kotlin microservices on AWS for a European fintech client. You will work hands-on with distributed systems, PostgreSQL and observability tools to ensure scalable, reliable delivery.

The role emphasizes AI-native delivery practices, sharing patterns beyond the squad and embedding directly into client squads as an IC. Excellent English is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial backend engineering.
• Kotlin; scalable microservices on AWS.
• AI-native delivery practices across the CDLC.
• Production experience with distributed systems.
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Observability tooling (Grafana).
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate scalable Kotlin microservices on AWS.
• Apply AI-native delivery practices to improve throughput while preserving quality.
• Work with distributed systems, relational databases like PostgreSQL, and observability tooling (Grafana) in production.
• Multiply output and quality within the squad and share patterns across the organisation.
• Embed directly into a client squad as a hands-on Individual Contributor.
