Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Java backend developer to build and maintain scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks. The role focuses on designing RESTful APIs and ensuring efficient data access across MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.

The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD processes with containerized deployments. Excellent problem-solving and team communication are a must.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring, with solid OOP concepts.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating frontend/backend systems.
• Proficiency in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle) and SQL.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows; testing with JUnit/Mockito.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance scalable backend apps with Java/Spring Boot.
• Design RESTful APIs to link frontend and backend components.
• Manage databases and optimize queries for performance across relational and caching stores.
• Collaborate on frontend integration and implement responsive UI features when needed.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments using Docker/Kubernetes.
