Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Backend Developer to design, develop, and deploy scalable Java-based applications using Spring Boot and microservices. You will build REST APIs, work with AWS, and containerize with Docker and Kubernetes, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role emphasizes solution design, automated testing, and production deployments with a focus on security, scalability, and performance. Mentoring junior developers is welcomed.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on Java development with Spring Boot and backend apps.
• Strong Microservices architecture knowledge and event-driven design.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, AWS cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience deploying and managing apps using Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Experience with JUnit and Mockito for testing.
• Strong focus on clean code, security, scalability, and performance.
• Code reviews experience and mentoring junior developers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable Java-based applications.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices with Spring Boot.
• Design solutions using microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Contribute to technical solution design based on requirements.
• Develop secure, scalable backend services deployed in AWS.
• Containerize and deploy with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with SRE/DevOps for CI/CD and production deployments.
• Write and maintain unit/integration tests (JUnit, Mockito, Gauge).
• Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards.
