Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Java backend developer to build and maintain scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks. The role focuses on designing RESTful APIs and ensuring efficient data access across MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.

The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD processes with containerized deployments. Excellent problem-solving and team communication are a must.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring, with solid OOP concepts.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating frontend/backend systems.
• Proficiency in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle) and SQL.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows; testing with JUnit/Mockito.

The Successful Applicant

• Java and Spring Development: Strong proficiency in Java programming language and knowledge of ObjectOriented Programming (OOP), core Java concepts, Spring and Spring Boot framework.
• Web Development: Experience with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, Java , and modern Java frameworks.
• Backend Frameworks: Proficiency in one or more Java frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, or Hibernate.
• API Development: Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Database Management: Knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases like MySQL,

• Version Control: Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
