Job summary

TekSynap is seeking a Transition Manager to join our Defense team in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on IT contract transitions and incumbent takeovers, coordinating with government partners and managing transition plans.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in IT transitions, strong leadership for multi‑company teams, and solid DoD 8140 and ITSM knowledge. This role requires security clearance and a background in federal environments.

Qualifications

• Eight years of relevant experience with at least five in IT transitions or incumbent takeovers.
• Experience leading complex IT transitions.
• Knowledge of ITSM, cyber, asset management and cloud transition activities.
• Understanding of DoD 8140 requirements.
• Ability to manage multi‑company transition teams.
• Experience supporting government agencies and federal contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the transition‑in plan.
• Coordinate with Government and incumbent parties.
• Track transition risks and milestones.
• Manage knowledge capture and artifact development.
• Validate GFE/GFI and asset baselines.
• Establish Day 1 staffing posture.
• Oversee transition reporting.
• Prepare transition‑out artifacts for contract closeout.
