As a Senior IT Audit & Cybersecurity Consultant, you'll own engagements from scoping and planning through fieldwork, stakeholder discussions, reporting, remediation recommendations, and closure. Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT audit, cybersecurity, information security, or technology risk, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities
- Proven experience managing end-to-end client engagements, from scoping and planning through fieldwork, reporting, remediation recommendations, and engagement closure
- Strong experience leading IT audit, cybersecurity, or technology risk engagements, including team coordination, delivery oversight, client communication, and mentoring
- Strong hands-on BCP/DRP experience, including recovery assessments, incident management, testing, resilience reviews, and alignment with ISO 22301 and BS 25999
- Strong knowledge of security and governance frameworks, including ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, PCI DSS, CIS Controls, ASD Essential Eight, GDPR, and Australian Privacy Principles
- Strong understanding of ITGC, application controls, IT governance, cybersecurity risk, enterprise risk management, and technology controls
- Experience assessing applications, databases, operating systems, networks, infrastructure, and access controls
- Proven ability to conduct risk-based audits, prepare audit documentation and reports, communicate findings to clients, and recommend practical remediation actions
- Strong client-facing, stakeholder management, analytical, presentation, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- Experience with SQL, ACL, IDEA, or similar audit analytics tools is an advantage
- Willingness to complete required criminal record screening
Responsibilities
- Conduct IT, cybersecurity, business continuity, and technology risk assessments across applications, infrastructure, and third-party environments
- Perform risk-based IT and cyber audits to evaluate internal controls, system security, and operational resilience
- Execute audit fieldwork, document findings, maintain audit files, and ensure compliance with auditing standards
- Support IT general controls (ITGC) and application controls testing for external audit engagements
- Lead and coordinate multiple consulting and audit projects, including planning, scheduling, and team supervision
- Conduct special reviews covering system implementations, access controls, contingency planning, and technical evaluations
- Prepare audit scopes, reports, technical documentation, and client presentations with actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with internal divisions, stakeholders, and client management throughout audit engagements
- Mentor and support junior team members through training, guidance, and methodology compliance
- Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance operational efficiency, controls, and risk management
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and advancements in IT auditing practices
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, with the ability to identify and upscale risks related to time, cost, scope, and delivery
- Sound judgment, problem-solving, organization, and reliability when managing complex cybersecurity, IT risk, governance, confidentiality, and independence requirements
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills, including active listening, expectation management, and delivery against agreed commitments
- Collaborative and improvement-focused, with the ability to guide team members, provide constructive feedback, manage challenges professionally, and stay current with evolving industry practices
