Job summary

Arcadis invites an Associate Technical Director to lead wastewater network modelling, delivering high-profile UK projects with senior client interaction and multidisciplinary teams. You will drive hydraulic modelling, CSO improvements, and SuDS initiatives, shaping sustainable strategies and ensuring quality across the full project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in water resources, environment, or civil engineering
• Expert in InfoWorks ICM / Micro Drainage or similar software
• Experience with CSO improvement for bathing water and shellfish water discharges
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary delivery with large programme budgets
• Solid understanding of the UK Water Industry (wastewater)
• Experience preparing client proposals and leading presentations/bid/tendering
• Experienced team leader / line manager
• Working knowledge of project & programme management and contracts/commercial management
• Strong communication skills enabling technical excellence for clients
• People management to utilise top talent for projected workload
• Degree in an analytical subject (Civil Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science... )
• Chartered status with CIWEM or ICE

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a portfolio of projects across design disciplines and stakeholders
• Own delivery of Arcadis' portfolio with possible secondments to clients
• Ensure resources are adequate for delivery and identify recruitment needs
• Build and maintain client relationships and Arcadis' reputation for high quality design
• Communicate processes, plans and initiatives within the team and with clients
• Create and manage quality processes (PCRA) and assure deliverables
• Plan, direct and control tasks, people and resources
• Lead a team and develop staff to meet changing technical and managerial needs
• Design and develop engineering solutions and evaluate their effectiveness
• Provide technical leadership, direction, and pastoral care to team members
• Resolve project issues and guide other team members
• Promote H&S awareness and ensure compliance with regulations
• Familiarity with SuDS/NbS preferred
