Job summary

Avensys Consulting is seeking a Group Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting for its Hong Kong parent entities, ensuring accurate records and compliance with local standards. You will lead month-end close, intercompany reconciliations, and statutory filings, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating audits.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 10+ years in Big Four or corporate accounting, with strong ERP experience and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10 years with a Big Four or reputable second-tier firm (Audit or Assurance).
• 10 years in a corporate finance or accounting role.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple legal entities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting records for the Group's Hong Kong parent entities, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and supported.
• Perform and review daily accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations where applicable.
• Oversee and supervise the intercompany reconciliations process and confirmations, ensuring balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved on a timely basis.
• Coordinate and monitor intercompany funding, loans, recharge arrangements, and other related transactions in accordance with Group policies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accounting records are complete and accurate within established deadlines.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet schedules.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounting records and schedules required for annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with Hong Kong accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory filing requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members, promoting best practices and consistent accounting procedures.
