Job summary

AVENSYS CONSULTING INC. in Metro Manila seeks a hands-on Senior Data Consultant to drive a large-scale Data & AI transformation, migrating from Snowflake and Databricks to GCP. You will shape target-state solutions, migrate workloads, and engage with senior stakeholders.

You will design a governed lakehouse on BigQuery, manage migrations, create ADRs, and coach client teams through workshops and enablement sessions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture.
• 3+ years of client-facing consulting or professional services.
• Hands-on with GCP data ecosystem (BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow or similar).
• Proven migration of large-scale data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, cloud lakehouses).
• Experience with parallel-run validation, production cutover and migration execution.
• Knowledge of Iceberg and modern lakehouse architectures.
• Experience implementing data governance (catalog, lineage, data quality, access management, data contracts).
• Strong facilitation of client workshops and stakeholder meetings.
• Excellent English communication, comfortable presenting to Directors/VPs.

Responsibilities

• Design a governed GCP lakehouse using BigQuery, Iceberg, Dataflow/Dataproc, ingestion, dbt, CI/CD, catalog, lineage, data quality, and semantic layers.
• Assess Snowflake and Databricks workloads and choose rehost, re-platform, or re-architect migration paths.
• Develop and present ADRs on security, performance, cost, scalability, and data risk.
• Define migration patterns to minimize technical debt and enable reliable production cutover.
• Contribute to AI/data-platform architecture including LLM gateways, semantic layers, and governance.
• Build and migrate data pipelines and data products within the migration factory.
• Execute parallel-run validation covering data quality, reconciliation, performance, and cost.
• Implement governance controls including data contracts, DQ rules, lineage, access controls, and certification workflows.
• Lead workshops with business and engineering stakeholders on requirements, migration assessment, and adoption.
• Coach client data engineers and platform teams through pairing and knowledge transfer sessions.
