About the job Senior Data Consultant (GCP Migration)
As a Senior Data Consultant (GCP Migration), you will be a hands‑on senior individual contributor helping deliver a large‑scale Data & AI transformation on Google Cloud. You will work across architecture, migration delivery, and stakeholder adoption to build a secure, governed, AI‑ready lakehouse ecosystem and migrate existing Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, pipeline, and ML workloads with zero business interruption.
What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed
- Design and evolve components of the governed lakehouse foundation across BigQuery, Apache Iceberg, batch/streaming/CDC ingestion, dbt‑based transformation, catalogue, lineage, data quality, and semantic layer.
- Produce Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and defend designs through governance reviews.
- Assess Snowflake and Databricks workloads and determine rehost, re‑platform, or re‑architect migration paths.
- Ensure designs meet requirements for zero downtime, trustworthy data, complete cutover, and capped dual‑run spend.
- Execute within the migration factory by building pipelines and data products.
- Drive workloads through migration and cutover gates to legacy decommissioning.
- Implement federated governance in code (contracts, quality rules, lineage, access controls).
- Support migration wave planning through inventory, dependency mapping, effort estimation, and sequencing.
- Troubleshoot production issues during dual‑run and hypercare, contributing to runbooks and handover.
- Track and report evidence against delivery, trust, adoption, and economics gates.
Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with Change Management and Enablement teams to translate platform changes into business impacts.
- Lead working sessions with stakeholders, including requirements walkthroughs and adoption clinics.
- Coach customer data engineering and analytics teams through pairing and enablement sessions.
- Identify adoption risks and resistance early and recommend mitigations.
We'd Love to Hear From You If...

- You have delivered at least one large‑scale migration involving Snowflake, Databricks, or on‑premises platforms to cloud lakehouse.
- You have practical experience implementing governance across catalogues, lineage, data quality, contracts, and federated models.
- You have facilitated client workshops, design reviews, and transformation discussions.
- You may have telecommunications experience (network data, CDR, Customer 360, CLM/campaign data).
- You may have experience working in the Philippines or Southeast Asian enterprise markets.
Technical Expertise

- You can assess and translate Snowflake/Databricks workloads (Spark, Delta, SQL).
- You have exposure to GenAI and agentic data‑platform patterns (LLM semantic layers, Vertex AI, RAG).
- You are literate in FinOps (cost baselining, allocation, forecasting, workload reporting).
- You may have MLOps/DataOps experience (feature pipelines, model CI/CD).
- You hold Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification (preferred).
- You may have exposure to structured change frameworks such as ADKAR.
Ways of Working
- You can operate credibly across architecture, delivery, and stakeholder change conversations.
- You are comfortable whiteboarding designs with engineers and translating changes for business teams.
