Job summary
Thakral One is seeking a Senior Data Consultant (GCP Migration) to lead hands-on migration and data platform modernization. You will work across architecture, migration delivery, and stakeholder adoption to build a secure, governed, AI-ready lakehouse and migrate Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery workloads with minimal business interruption.
You will drive governance, design reviews, and migration strategy while mentoring teams and coordinating with Change Management to ensure business impact
Qualifications
- 10+ years in data engineering/architecture or similar
- Experience delivering large-scale migrations to cloud lakehouse
- Governance across data catalogues, lineage, and quality
- Facilitated client workshops and transformation discussions
- Experience in Philippines or Southeast Asian markets is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design lakehouse foundation components with BigQuery, Iceberg, and dbt
- Defend designs via ADRs and governance reviews
- Assess Snowflake/Databricks workloads for migration paths
- Ensure zero downtime, trusted data, and controlled spend during migration
- Build pipelines and data products within a migration factory
- Lead cutover planning and decommission legacy systems
- Implement federated governance in code (contracts, lineage, access)
- Support stakeholder adoption and runbooks creation
