Job summary

The Japan Research Institute, Limited, Philippine Branch is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to design and implement scalable, high-performance applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes quality through manual and automated testing and close alignment with product stakeholders.

You will build backend services with Node.js Express, craft data models in PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, and contribute to a microservices architecture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• At least 5 years as a Full Stack Developer.
• Experience with Node.js Express for backend development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Experience writing automated tests with Playwright and Jest.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Experience with Waterfall software development methodology is a plus.
• Interest or experience in financial business systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js Express.
• Design, optimize and maintain data models using PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Implement microservices-based architecture for scalability and modularity.
• Write automated tests using Jest and Playwright to ensure software quality.
• Utilize Git for version control and establish effective branching/merging/deployment strategies.
• Champion coding best practices, automated testing and continuous integration.
• Enforce code standards, documentation practices and maintainability.
• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for codebases, processes and systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Stay up to date with development trends and best practices.
