Job summary

obs is seeking a senior financial accountant to manage financial accounting and reporting across multiple entities. You will oversee month-end close, GL, reconciliations, and statutory compliance with a focus on Australian practices.

The role requires strong Australian accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and hands-on ERP and Xero proficiency. You will collaborate with senior finance leadership, support budgeting, and mentor junior staff while ensuring timely, accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Australian accounting or similar role.
• Experience with BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and WorkCover.
• Strong Excel and ERP experience; Xero proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close, journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Oversee general ledger, fixed asset registers, and project accounting.
• Provide budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Liaise with auditors and external accountants; ensure compliance.
• Mentor junior staff and support CFO and Group FC.
