Job summary

5 ELK is seeking a Senior Finance Supervisor to support Philippine operations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring statutory compliance. The role focuses on payroll oversight, cash flow management, and adherence to PH tax rules in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in finance, strong English communication, and the ability to lead a team while maintaining internal controls and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in BPO/shared services.
• Solid knowledge of financial procedures and government regulations, especially tax.
• Experience with accounting software is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review payroll reports and summaries before management review.
• Guide and support junior finance staff to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor statutory deadlines and ensure timely filings and payments.
• Record financial transactions accurately per policies and standards.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain audit-ready financial records and documentation.

About the role

As a Senior Finance Supervisor supporting Philippine operations, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting day to day financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail driven, organised, and confident handling financial operations with expertise in PH Tax requirements and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Review payroll reports and summaries to ensure accuracy before submission for management review

• Provide hands on guidance and ongoing support to junior finance staff to maintain payroll accuracy, compliance, and consistency

• Monitor statutory and internal compliance deadlines, ensuring all filings and payments are completed on time and properly documented

• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring balances are accurate and issues are resolved promptly

• Maintain complete, well organised, and audit ready financial records and supporting documentation

• Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, financial procedures, and company policies

• Support the preparation and submission of required reports to government agencies (BIR, PEZA, SEC) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

• Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and documentation to support internal and external audit requirements

• Identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for process improvement, and escalating findings with clear recommendations to the Finance Supervisor

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any business related course

• At least 5 years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in a BPO or shared services environment

• Solid working knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, government regulations, especially tax requirements

• Experience using accounting software is a strong advantage

• Strong written and spoken English communication skills

• Highly organised, detail oriented, and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks
