Job summary

Dyson Institute in the Philippines is seeking a multi-disciplinary engineer for the Advanced NPD team. You will own CAD models to design, build and test concepts, and contribute to early-stage concept generation.

Collaborating with electronics, design, software and upstream teams, you will define test plans, control variables, and present results to drive product maturity and manufacturability while embracing Dyson’s startup-spirit.

Qualifications

  • First degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, electronic, or software engineering.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a product or technical development environment.
  • Curious problem solver and innovator with clear examples of creativity.
  • Multi-disciplinary capability with interest in multiple disciplines.
  • CAD, coding, electronics, systems, and mechatronics.

Responsibilities

  • Support innovation and concept generation with fresh ideas and problem solving.
  • Own CAD models to design, build and test concepts.
  • Understand how to make test plans, and control variables in testing and present results clearly.
  • Work as part of a team on projects, contribute to sprint meetings, and support progress against timelines.
  • Contribute to setting technical requirements (pressure, power, flow, performance) via analysis and results.
  • Help select and specify components by evaluating options for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with engineers, upstream tech teams, internal teams (electronics, design, software) and suppliers.
  • Adapt quickly to changing project requirements and reprioritise work.
  • Suggest improvements by reviewing past solutions and proposing alternatives.

Detailed Job Scope (Roles & Responsibilities)
  • Support innovation and concept generation by bringing fresh ideas and using problem‑solving skills.
  • Own CAD models help design, build and test concepts.

  • Contribute to setting technical requirements (such as pressure, power, flow, performance) by providing analysis, test results, and technical recommendations.
  • Help select and specify components by evaluating options and providing input on performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers, upstream technology teams, internal teams (electronics, design, software), and suppliers under guidance to support project delivery and technology transfer.
  • Adapt quickly to changing project requirements by reprioritising own work and supporting the team to meet objectives.
  • Suggest improvements by reviewing past solutions, proposing ideas, and being open to discussing alternatives.
Qualifications
  • A first degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, electronic, or software engineering.

  • Disruptive and observant – Demonstrate ability to critique design and suggests effective improvements.
  • Customer‑centric mindset – awareness of what customers require and balances technical requirements to maximise product value, while minimising cost and manufacturing complexity.
  • Good Communicator – Able to present ideas and selling concepts withing the technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Clear, logical thinker – Shows attention to detail, understanding of engineering fundamentals, and applies critical analysis.
