Senior Embedded Firmware Architect

Job summary

XP Power is seeking an efficient, meticulous firmware engineer in Metro Manila to drive embedded software initiatives across wired/wireless devices, gateways, and power conversion products.

You will participate in architecture, design, coding, testing, and documentation, while supporting legacy products and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 6+ years of related work experience
• Proficient in C for embedded development. C++ is a plus.
• Experience designing code frameworks (kernels, schedulers), drivers and supporting legacy codes for 8/16/32-bit MCUs and DSPs
• Experience in instrumentation (measurements, calibration)
• Experience with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, RS-485, Ethernet
• Experience debugging in embedded/electronics environments
• Experience creating state machines, flow charts etc.
• Proficient in reading hardware schematics and data sheets
• Experience with SDLC processes (Waterfall/Agile/Scrum)
• Experience with Git and SVN
• Proficient in Python for automation
• Experience in designing/tuning digital control systems and filters (PID, pole-zero)
• Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, Azure, or Zephyr
• FPGA experience is a plus
• Familiarity with MISRA or other coding standards is a plus
• Familiarity with build systems is a plus
• Disciplined, detail-oriented, and collaborative
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Experience reproducing sporadic issues using debugging techniques

Responsibilities

• Participate in product definition, specification and requirements analysis with cross-functional stakeholders
• Collaborate on firmware architecture and development strategy focused on wired and wireless networks
• Design, code, integrate, test, and support software for embedded microprocessors used in wired/wireless devices, power supplies, sensors, and gateways
• Communicate design constraints and trade-offs clearly to team and management
• Perform system integration and validation testing, including interoperability verification
• Participate in all project lifecycle phases from design and code through unit testing, documentation, and release
• Support legacy products for troubleshooting and upgrades
• Collaborate with a broad team to translate customer requirements into robust solutions
