Job summary

XP Power is seeking an efficient firmware engineer to join the team. You will contribute to firmware development across prototyping, feature development, unit testing, issue investigations, and documentation for critical power conversion products.

You will collaborate with the Engineering Services team in a collaborative environment that values excellence, with opportunities to work on cutting-edge technologies and meet regulatory requirements for high-quality designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience.
• Proficient in C for embedded development; C++ is a plus.
• Knowledge of MCU families and DSPs; kernels, schedulers, drivers.
• Familiar with I2C, SPI, RS-485, Ethernet; able to read schematics/datasheets.
• Experience with software development life cycle (Waterfall, Agile, or Scrum).
• Experience with version control (Git and SVN).
• Knowledge of Python; MISRA familiarity is a plus.
• Disciplined, detail-oriented; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on firmware architecture and testing strategy.
• Support modification and verification of existing code; perform integration and unit tests.
• Communicate design constraints and trade-offs clearly to team and management.
• Perform system integration and validation testing for interoperability.
• Participate in all project lifecycle phases—from design to release.
• Support legacy products for troubleshooting and upgrades.
• Translate customer requirements into effective solutions within constraints.
• Other duties may be assigned.
