Job summary

Verkada is seeking an experienced systems software engineer to develop on-device camera platform features using C++ and Go. You will collaborate with product and edge-computing teams to build scalable, production-ready solutions and lead OTA release cycles.

The role requires strong Linux experience, 5+ years in systems software, and excellent cross-team communication. Onsite work five days a week is expected at our San Mateo office or local site.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in systems software development for performance- and resource-constrained environments.
• Proficient in C++ or Golang.
• 2+ years of experience building software for Linux-based platforms.
• Familiarity with Bash scripting and Python for tooling and automation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end development of on-device camera platform features in C++ and Golang.
• Collaborate with product team to translate requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions.
• Partner with streaming, storage, and AI teams to optimize for edge computing environments.
• Lead code reviews, guide debugging efforts, and uphold coding standards for a maintainable codebase.
• Drive and coordinate regular OTA releases balancing delivery speed with stability.
