Job summary

Verkada is seeking an experienced systems software engineer to own the end-to-end development of on-device camera platform features using C++ and Golang. You will collaborate with product, streaming, storage, and AI teams to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions for edge computing environments.

The role requires 5+ years in systems software, Linux experience, and strong OS/architecture knowledge. Onsite five days per week, with extensive collaboration across engineering and product teams.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in systems software development.
• Proficient in C++ or Golang.
• 2+ years of experience building software for Linux-based platforms.
• Strong understanding of operating systems, computer architecture, and trade-offs between compute, memory, and storage.
• Familiarity with Bash scripting and Python for tooling and automation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week

What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end development of on-device camera platform features in C++ and Golang.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of experience building software for Linux-based platforms.

• Familiarity with Bash scripting and Python for tooling and automation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience in development of on-device software for cloud-connected devices.
• Familiar with Linux Kernel development.

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).

$130,000 — $280,000 USD
