Job summary

Newco Consulting PTY LTD Representative Office is seeking a Civil/Structural designer with experience in mining-related plant design and materials handling. You will work on chutes, launders, and conveyors, developing concepts through to installation with access to our fabrication workshop.

Proficiency with Microstation, Tekla, OpenBuildings Designer, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is advantageous. Strong time management, communication, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Ability to work to Australian Standards
• Cutting-edge design skills with initiative
• Familiarity with design packages: Microstation/Aecosim, Tekla, OpenBuildings Designer, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, OpenPlant & Isometrics manager, Navisworks
• Materials handling or process plant design experience
• Technical exposure in the mining sector
• Experience with point cloud data (advantageous)
• Excellent time management and self-motivation
• Excellent communication and teamwork, independent work capability
• Willing to work in a team and provide feedback to trainee designers

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

Successful applicants' responsibilities based on discipline could include:

• Conceptual design and modelling of chutes, launders, bins, conveyors, steel structures & frames, concrete structures, and mobile equipment, bespoke tooling, custom mobile equipment attachments, etc.
• Creating detailed design of Civil and Structural elements, guided by professional engineers
• Involvement from concept to installation, including exposure to our in-house fabrication workshop
• Designing and self-managing workload of a small portfolio of design projects
• Detailed design of Civil and Structural elements, guided by professional engineers
• Detailed design of mechanical designs

Successful applicants will display the following characteristics:

• Familiarity with one or more of the following packages: Microstation/Aecosim/Tekla Structures, Open Buildings Designer Solidworks, AutoCAD, OpenPlant & Isometrics manager, Navisworks
