Job summary

WSP Philippines is seeking a seasoned Civil Designer to support Australian civil projects from Manila. You will lead drafting tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and produce drawings that meet technical and commercial standards.

You should hold a Civil Engineering degree, be a registered engineer, and have extensive experience with 12D Modelling, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and drainage design. The role requires strong communication and the ability to manage tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and professional registration.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• 10+ years’ experience on Australian civil projects across sectors.
• Strong civil design and drafting capabilities in a consulting environment.
• Familiar with Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3500, NCC).
• Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience with earthworks, roads, stormwater design and drainage.
• Mentoring and coaching others to build team capability.

What you'll do:

• Carry out assigned civil design and documentation as delegated in support of technical and commercial standards.
• Contribute to our current civil engineering projects through the provision of accurate and timely delivery of documentation.
• Communicate effectively with all external (multidisciplinary consultants) and internal (managers, engineers, colleagues etc.).
• Embody enthusiasm to work with a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary design setting.
• Accountable for the coordination and production of drawings and drafting requirements of the assigned project/s.
• Adheres to prescribed drafting standard and procedures.
• Conscientiously works towards the group’s objectives and adheres to the company’s policy.
• May serve as a project leader when dictated by project size complexity or request.
• Provides mentoring and guidance to other Civil Designers in the team.
• Checks work of subordinates as to accuracy and adherence to the civil design intent and assumptions.
• Collaborate and coordinates with team members and other disciplines.
• Perform quality reviews of documentation to ensure it is within relevant standards.
• May evaluate staff performance in line with HR procedures.
• Works towards continuous improvement of team skills and processes.
• Other duties as directed, to help the company provide outstanding service to the company and its costumers.

• A Registered Civil Engineer with the relevant licensure regulatory board.
• Good English communication skills.
• Ideally 10+ years’ industry experience on Australian civil engineering projects from a selection of sectors, e.g. commercial, residential, industrial, subdivisions, roads.
• Highly developed skills pertaining to civil design and drafting, ideally in a consulting engineering environment.

• Capacity to effectively liaise and coordinate with all internal/external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• 12D Modelling.
• Roads, Earthworks and stormwater drainage design (Australian Standards).
• AutoDesk Civil 3D.
• Experience designing projects in Land Development, Building Civilworks and Infrastructure contexts.
• Experience with commonly used drainage software such as DRAINS, XP Storm / SWMM, 12d Drainage etc.
