Job summary

East West Banking Corporation (EastWest) invites a qualified Data Scientist to join its Digital Products and Channels team in Makati, on a hybrid basis. You will develop, deploy, and optimize machine learning models addressing fraud detection, credit risk, and customer segmentation, while analyzing vast financial data to derive actionable insights for strategic decisions.

You will collaborate with business analysts and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field
• Minimum 5–6 years in data analytics, ML, or data science in fintech/banking with at least 1 year in leadership
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, ML algorithms, and predictive modeling
• Proficient in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI for financial data
• Experience building data-driven fintech solutions: fraud detection, credit risk, customer analytics, optimization

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and optimize ML models for fintech challenges (fraud, credit risk, segmentation)
• Analyze large datasets to generate actionable insights for strategic decisions
• Collaborate with analysts and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
• Design and maintain dashboards and visualizations for monitoring performance
• Monitor and improve ML models for accuracy, efficiency, and impact
• Support fraud reduction and operational efficiency through advanced analytics
