The Private Advertiser is seeking a Commodity Specialist to drive RFQ activities and supplier selection for electromechanical and wire-harnessing materials. You will collaborate with Engineering, Program, Quality, and Purchasing to understand material needs and ensure on-time delivery while meeting KPIs.
The role requires a diploma/degree with at least 3 years in sourcing or procurement, familiarity with electronics/distributor networks, and strong MS Office skills.
· Commodity Specialist / Senior Commodity Specialist - Electromechanical & Wire Harnessing
Engage in the RFQ process to support the company's efforts in securing new business in the wire-harnessing industry.
Review sourcing requirements and coordinate with suppliers to obtain competitive quotations, lead times, and commercial terms.
Support timely RFQ submissions by providing accurate sourcing information and identifying potential supply or cost risks.
Lead and develop sourcing strategies for assigned commodities in alignment with business objectives.
Evaluate suppliers based on technical capabilities, quality standards, pricing, delivery performance, and commercial terms to select the most suitable sources in accordance with sourcing strategies.
Identify opportunities to diversify the supplier base and strengthen supply chain competitiveness.
Research and identify potential suppliers for electromechanical and wire-harnessing materials.
Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of supply.
Collaborate with Engineering, Program, Quality, and Purchasing teams to understand material requirements, specifications, and business needs.
Achieve assigned KPIs in support of the company's objectives.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager from time to time
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Candidates currently working in the Engineering field are welcome to apply.
Experience in sourcing, procurement, or commodity management, preferably within the electronics manufacturing or wire-harnessing industry. Familiarity with electronic components and their associated distributor networks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple RFQs and sourcing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven team player with collaborative mindset.
Prior experience in an Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) company will be an added advantage.
