Job summary

Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore is seeking a Senior Coating & Painting Inspector for project-based work in Makati, Manila, PH. The role focuses on inspecting pipe coating, painting, insulation, corrosion protection, and field joints to ensure compliance with project specs and QA/QC standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree with 15+ years in Oil & Gas, including 5+ years in pipe and field joint coating inspection, and includes BGAS Level 2 / NACE Level 2

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas.
• At least 5 years in pipe coating and field joint coating inspection.
• Proven experience with 3LPP coating systems and concrete coating inspections.
• Strong knowledge of coating inspection techniques and pipeline coating applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection and surveillance of pipe coating, painting, insulation, and corrosion protection activities.
• Inspect surface preparation, blasting, coating application, curing, and coating repairs.
• Conduct coating inspections including DFT, WFT, holiday testing, adhesion testing, and environmental monitoring.
• Inspect and verify 3LPP coating systems, concrete coating, and field joint coating activities.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, QA/QC requirements, and international standards.
• Review coating procedures, material certifications, inspection reports, and quality records.
• Identify non-conformances and verify implementation of corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.


• Minimum 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.


• At least 5 years of experience in pipe coating and field joint coating inspection.


• Proven experience with 3LPP coating systems and concrete coating inspections.


• Strong knowledge of coating inspection techniques, corrosion protection systems, and pipeline coating applications.


• Valid BGAS Grade 2 or NACE Level 2 Coating Inspector Certification.


• Experience in refinery, petrochemical, pipeline, EPC, or offshore projects is highly preferred.


• Must possess a valid passport and be willing to travel for international project assignments.
