Hammerjack Pty Ltd seeks a Senior Cloud & AI Platform Engineer to own design, implementation, and ongoing support of cloud and AI platforms across our Microsoft ecosystem. You will lead architecture, deployments, and performance optimization in a post‑merger multi-tenant setup.

This hands‑on role blends strategic architecture with daily operations, requiring strong troubleshooting, security focus, and proactive adoption of emerging technologies to improve business capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Minimum of five (5) years hands‑on experience as Microsoft Azure administrator for Global Administrator in an MTO setup.
Strong experience with Azure Entra ID, SharePoint/OneDrive, Dataverse, Microsoft Graph, Copilot, and related APIs.
PowerShell as mandatory for advanced admin tasks.
Experience with MS Copilot for business; Agentic AI and Azure OpenAI as plus.
Certifications in Cloud and AI preferred; Azure certifications highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Act as SME for Microsoft 365 & Azure in multi-tenant orgs.
Maintain, monitor, upgrade, and refine Cloud and AI platforms.
Lead implementation partnerships in ongoing Cloud/AI projects.
Configure and maintain MS policies, settings, and deployment packages.
Document SOPs and provide internal IT support and end-user guides.
Serve as escalation point for IT helpdesk and vendor escalations.
Monitor support queue (Jira) and perform advanced troubleshooting.
Stay aware of MS roadmap and participate in IT Change Management.

About the role

The Senior Cloud & AI Platform Engineer will act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Senior Solution Architect within our advanced Microsoft ecosystem, operating in a post-merger Multi-Tenant Organization (MTO) environment.

The primary focus of this role is to master, manage, and support all Cloud and AI platforms used across the organization—including, but not limited to, Microsoft technologies. This requires deep technical expertise, continuous learning, and the ability to ensure seamless integration, performance, and optimization across a diverse and evolving technology stack.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and support of cloud and AI platforms, ensuring their operational stability while proactively adopting emerging technologies that enhance business capabilities. While Microsoft Azure and AI solutions are a key part of the ecosystem, the role extends to broader cloud and AI platforms as required.

This is a hands‑on position that combines strategic architecture with day‑to‑day operational support and advanced troubleshooting, making it ideal for someone who thrives in both leadership and execution.

Duties & Responsibilities

Act as a Microsoft 365 & Azure Subject Matter Expert with a solid understanding of Azure, Azure/Entra ID, Enterprise Mobility + Security, Intune etc.
Provide maintenance, monitoring, support, upgrades and refinements of our Cloud and AI platforms
Become one of our key implementation partners and supporters in our ongoing Cloud and AI projects.
Configuration and maintenance of policies, settings, and deployment packages within the MS ecosystem, including policies to protect devices and accounts.
Assists in documentation of our SOPs related to our MS 365 services and support for internal IT (our team) and self‑help guides for end‑users.
Act as an escalation point for our internal IT helpdesk, when there is a need for deeper understanding or further sparring on technical aspects of Windows 11 Pro, Office 365, Teams, OneDrive and MS Copilot and provide escalation to vendors as needed (MS support etc.).
Performs day‑to‑day activities such as monitoring our support queue (Jira) in TeamIT.
Performs advanced troubleshooting and investigations, including possible security incidents.
Maintains awareness of MS roadmap and releases and evaluates changes & updates to provide input to our ITCM (IT Change Management)

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years hands‑on experience as Microsoft Azure administrator responsible for tenants (Global Administrator) experienced in handling tenants in an MTO setup and migrating between tenants.
Strong experience with Azure, MS Entra ID as Identity Provider, MS SharePoint/OneDrive for Storage, Dataverse for data, Microsoft Graph, MS Copilot, MS APIs for how all this works together/integrates security to act as a true SME in Cloud and AI projects.
Experience using PowerShell to solve advanced admin tasks is mandatory.
Working knowledge of the Power platform (Power Automate, PowerApps, Power BI) is a plus but not mandatory.
Experience with MS Copilot for business (Work vs Web) is mandatory, Claude experience a plus, other AIs optional.
Experience with (any) Agentic AI is required. Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI a strong plus. MS Certifications in Cloud and AI.
At least two fundamental level platform certifications, such as AZ-900 (Azure Cloud) and one of the newer AI-900/AI-901 (Azure AI), Azure Data Fundamentals DP-900 required.
At least one role‑based platform certification, such as AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate) and/or AB-100 (Agentic AI Business Solution Architect) are strongly preferred.
Additional MS Certifications are considered a plus, however real demonstrated work experience from complex IT projects or support tasks within the space of Cloud and AI is more important than academic certifications.
