Senior Bookkeeper
We are a team of progressive Virtual CFOs and finance professionals supporting fast‑paced startups, scale‑ups, and listed companies. This fully remote role values communication, initiative, and proactivity. You will work closely with the Finance Team Leader and other team members to deliver accurate financial information across multiple clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & Compliance
- Maintain accurate general ledgers for client entities.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations, journals, and workpapers.
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with ATO, SRO, and WorkCover obligations, including BAS, IAS, STP, payroll tax, and superannuation.
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processing.
- Assist with payroll processing and related compliance.
- Contribute to year‑end accounting procedures and audit preparation.
- Assist in preparing grant or funding documentation when required.
- Client Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain clear and timely communication with the Finance Team Leader, GRAM team members, and clients.
- Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal finance teams.
- Ensure visibility over workflow priorities and manage expectations effectively.
- Escalate complex technical or client‑facing issues to the Finance Team Leader when necessary.
- Process & Systems
- Ensure accounting processes align with best practices and client expectations.
- Support documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
- Contribute ideas for system and workflow improvements within client files.
- Maintain accurate task tracking within GRAM's workflow systems.
Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with multiple clients or within a public practice environment preferred.
- High proficiency in Xero and associated add‑ons.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced remote environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and client needs.
Working Hours
- 5 days per week.
- Flexible schedule across the week.

- Occasional in‑person meetings or quarterly team catch‑ups may be required.
