Job summary

Metrobank seeks a qualified lawyer to handle and monitor cases through mediation, trial, appeal and other legal proceedings in municipal, regional and higher courts and tribunals. You will coordinate with the Litigation Department Head on investigation progress and seek legal opinions from the department.

You will draft pleadings, coordinate with external counsels, and represent the bank in NLRC, BSP, Court of Appeals, and other bodies, ensuring timely updates to management and adherence to

Qualifications

• Must be a registered lawyer with a valid license.
• At least 2–5 years of litigation experience.
• Banking experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Research, prepare pleadings, and coordinate with external counsels on required submissions in cases filed by or against the bank.
• Represent the bank in cases before NLRC, BSP, Court of Appeals, and regular courts, under supervision.
• Assist bank units, external counsels, clients, courts, and agencies on pending matters.
• Provide legal assistance and conduct inquiry/research to enforce the bank’s rights.
• Coordinate with external counsel on case strategy as approved by department heads.
• Propose policies and guidelines for banking documentation and handling of legal concerns.
• Prepare case updates and reports for management.
• Supervise Legal Assistant, Paralegal & Court Liaison Officers, and other staff.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.
