We are looking for a Senior Australian Accountant to join our team and support the preparation of accounting and tax work for Australian clients. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in developing their accounting expertise.
Prepare various Australian tax returns, including individual, sole trader, company, and trust returns.
Prepare financial statements, BAS, IAS, and PAYG requirements for different client types.
Liaise with accountants and assist with responding to client queries.
Draft professional emails and other client correspondence as required.
Identify potential issues or opportunities in day-to-day accounting work and elevate them to the Team Leader.
Assist with research and interpretation of Australian tax legislation.
Support accountants and Team Leaders with special assignments and projects.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist with their implementation.
Manage multiple tasks, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
At least 2 years of Australian accounting experience.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field.
Secondary education completed.
Interest in pursuing Chartered Accountant (CA) studies.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with Xero and the Xero App suite is highly desirable but not required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong ability to multitask, prioritise, and work under pressure.
