Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in both accounting operations and strategic financial analysis. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing insights that drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities Accounting
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP) and adherence to internal controls.
Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
Support external audits and coordinate with auditors as needed.
Handle ad-hoc accounting tasks to meet both internal and external stakeholder requirements.
Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management.
Collaborate with business units to assess financial performance and identify cost optimization opportunities.
Create dashboards and executive presentations to communicate financial results and trends.
Compliance and Reporting
Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).
Work closely with tax agents on income tax returns and transfer pricing lodgements.
Prepare and submit Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial analysis.
Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and FP&A processes.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
