Job summary

IAN SMART ENERGY CORP in Quezon City is seeking a Senior Accounting professional to lead financial accounting activities and ensure timely, accurate reporting. The role focuses on financial statements, month-end close, VAT reconciliations, and internal control compliance to support management decisions and stakeholder communications.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of relevant experience, CPA/CMA credentials (preferred), strong Excel skills, and proven leadership in a finance team.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification is a plus but not required.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• General Ledger and VAT recon and validation experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel for analysis and reporting.
• Experience leading and mentoring accounting teams.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accounting professional to join our finance team in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in our financial operations and reporting functions. As Senior Accounting professional, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely, accurate financial reporting to support management decision‑making and stakeholder communication. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health and credibility of IAN Smart Energy Corp.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Managing month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing
• Supervising junior accounting staff and providing guidance on accounting policies and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with financial reporting regulations and internal control requirements
• Analysing financial data and identifying areas for process improvement and cost optimisation
• Preparing financial reports and schedules for internal management and external stakeholders
• Maintaining accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation
• Assisting with internal and external audit procedures and addressing audit findings
• Supporting the development and implementation of accounting policies and controls

What we're looking for

• Professional accounting qualification (such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent recognised credential) is a plus but not required
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles
• General Ledger and VAT recon and validation experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to the energy sector
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring accounting teams
• Knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and audit procedures
• Experience with financial forecasting and budget analysis is preferred
• Familiarity with energy industry accounting practices is advantageous
