Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead full-cycle accounting and tax compliance in a fast-paced energy sector environment.

Based in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, you will manage daily operations, coordinate with auditors, and supervise junior staff while upgrading to cloud-based ERP systems like Xero.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA/CA/ACCA an advantage but not mandatory.
• Experience in tax, CIT and VAT.
• Experience with audits and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting operations including AP, AR, GL and month-end closing.
• Manage book-closing process and prepare monthly/annual financial reports.
• Review accounting entries, reconciliations and financial statements.
• Prepare CIT and VAT filings and other tax compliance.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit.
• Prepare cash flow projections, budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor AP/AR aging and collect outstanding receivables.
• Coordinate intercompany billing and reconciliation.
• Develop improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
• Supervise Accountants and Junior Accountants.
• Coordinate with banks, auditors, shareholders and internal departments.
• Support banking and finance activities as required.
• Perform other accounting tasks as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting operations including AP, AR, GL and month-end closing.
• Independently manage the book-closing process and prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
• Review accounting entries, reconciliations and financial statements.
• Prepare and handle CIT and VAT filings and other tax compliance matters.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual audit process.
• Prepare cash flow projections, budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor AP/AR aging and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Handle intercompany billing and reconciliation.
• Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Supervise and review the work of Accountants and Junior Accountants.
• Coordinate with banks, auditors, shareholders and internal departments.
• Support banking and finance-related activities when required.
• Perform other accounting and finance tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields.
• 58 years or more of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
• Strong experience in month-end closing, tax, CIT and VAT.
• Able to work independently and make appropriate accounting judgments.
• Experience in audit and internal control.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• CPA / ACCA / CA is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Experience in accounting system implementation or migration is an advantage.
• Experience in the Energy, Power or Infrastructure industry is not required.
