Job summary

Accountalent is seeking a highly organized Senior Accountant to manage full accounting lifecycles for multiple clients across entities. You will build robust accounting structures, lead month-end close, and serve as a trusted advisor on financial reporting and compliance.

You will onboard new clients, design COA structures, handle daily bookkeeping, and collaborate with teams across startups. This role offers a flexible remote setup and exposure to diverse early-stage companies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
• 3+ years of progressive U.S. accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and U.S. GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Client-service mindset with strong relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple clients.
• Leadership, accountability, and collaboration skills.
• Startup experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end accounting operations for assigned clients or entities.
• Manage new client onboarding, including understanding business models, workflows, and reporting requirements.
• Design and maintain Chart of Accounts structures aligned with operational and reporting needs.
• Perform and oversee daily bookkeeping activities, including AP, AR, payroll entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, system issues, and process gaps.
• Act as a trusted accounting partner for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Support audit requests and special projects as needed.
• Collaborate effectively within a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
