Job summary

Symrise AG in Pasig, Philippines, is seeking a Savory Laboratory Technician to join its flavors and sensory development team. The role focuses on compounding seasonings, preparing samples, and supporting flavor trials to deliver consistent, high-quality savory products for snacks and culinary applications.

You will follow recipes, maintain batch quality, assist in sensory evaluations, and prepare client-ready samples while working in a clean, safety-conscious laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or related discipline.
• Strong interest in food application and product development with good understanding of seasoning blends, flavor profiles and food product development processes.
• Meticulous and hands-on, with the ability to follow recipes, formulations, protocols and technical instructions with accuracy.
• Proactive, curious and eager to earn, with strong organisational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a laboratory environment and familiar with basic laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately compound seasonings, flavor concentrates and other ingredients for snacks and culinary applications.
• Follow specific recipes and formulations to achieve the desired flavor profiles, product quality and application requirements
• Maintain consistent batch-to-batch quality while adhering to standard operating procedures
• Assist in the application of seasonings including dusting snack bases and preparing culinary products such as instant noodles and sauces
• Ensure proper and even distribution of seasonings on products to maintain flavor consistency
• Participate in the cooking, seasoning and testing of various savory food products
• Prepare and repack samples of seasonings, seasoning blends and snack applications for client presentations, intern evaluations and sensory testing
• Support the development of new product samples to ensure they meet customer requirements and quality standards
• Prepare and manage samples for internal sensory evaluations and feedback sessions
• Assist in the preparation of materials for client meetings including product samples, demonstration materials and supporting documents
• Support preparation for events such as innovation days, customer presentations and product demonstrations
• Assist in sample preparation for sensory evaluations and support the coordination of internal tasting panels
• Provide feedback and assist in the analysis of sensory evaluation results
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe laboratory and production environment, ensuring all work areas comply with health and safety standards.
• Follow proper handling, storage and disposal guidelines for raw materials, ingredients and samples
• Document processes, results, observations and feedback during all stages of compounding, application and testing.
