Qualifications

• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SAP system lifecycle, from implementation to upgrades and retirement.
• Monitor system health, performance, and conduct log reviews.
• Coordinate maintenance, backups, recovery testing, patching, DR activities.
• Ensure system stability, availability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards and regulations (GxP).
• Maintain system documentation, runbooks, user guides, and records.
• Support audits, risk assessments, and validation activities.
• Act as primary SAP contact for technical and operational matters.
• Coordinate across IT teams, business users, vendors, and service providers.
• Manage incidents, service requests, and changes via ITSM processes.

About the role

We are looking for an SAP ERP System Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations, governance, and continuous improvement of our SAP environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong system ownership and stakeholder management experience, supported by a basic to intermediate understanding of SAP Basis. You will serve as the main point of contact for SAP system-related activities, working closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure system reliability, compliance, and performance within a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the SAP system throughout its lifecycle, from implementation and support to upgrades and retirement
• Monitor system health and performance, including regular log checks and operational reviews
• Coordinate system maintenance, backups, recovery testing, patching, and disaster recovery activities
• Ensure system stability, availability, and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with internal IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements (including GxP)
• Maintain accurate system documentation, runbooks, user guides, and operational records
• Support audits, risk assessments, and validation activities
• Act as the primary contact for SAP-related technical and operational matters
• Coordinate activities across IT teams, business users, vendors, and service providers
• Manage incidents, service requests, and change requests using ITSM processes

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3 years of experience in a System Lead, Application Lead, or similar role
• Experience managing enterprise application lifecycles and IT operations
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management
• Experience working with regulated environments and compliance requirements
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills
• Basic to intermediate understanding of SAP Basis, including user administration and security management, performance monitoring and log analysis, backup and recovery concepts, and patch and system maintenance coordination
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organizational and coordination abilities
• Proficient in written and spoken English
