Job summary

Study Group is seeking a hands-on Salesforce Engineer to own administration, development, and integrations across our Salesforce platforms, including Marketing Cloud.

You will automate deployments with CI/CD, collaborate with architects and analysts, and drive data quality, security, and governance to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Salesforce Platform Developer I or equivalent development experience.
• Salesforce Admin certification desirable.
• Marketing Cloud certification desirable but not required.
• Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience including Apex, SOQL and Lightning technologies.
• Practical Salesforce administration experience including users, permissions, security, objects, fields, configuration and Flow.
• Experience with integrations and APIs, including REST and SOAP.
• Experience using Git and CI/CD processes.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Salesforce Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for the ongoing operation, enhancement, and engineering of the Salesforce platform. This position combines Salesforce development expertise with platform administration responsibilities to ensure a stable, efficient, and scalable environment.

The role focuses on applying engineering best practices to automate routine administrative and deployment activities, minimizing manual effort and operational risk while enabling reliable, version-controlled delivery through robust CI/CD processes.

Working closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and Salesforce Developers, the Salesforce Engineer translates business requirements into scalable, sustainable technical solutions. In addition, the role supports the growth and technical management of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including platform operations, data management, user support, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Own core Salesforce administration activities including user management, permissions, security, configuration, data quality and declarative automation using Flow.
• Identify repeatable manual administration and deployment activities and automate them where practical using Salesforce metadata, APIs, scripting and engineering tooling.
• Develop and maintain Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL and other appropriate Salesforce technologies.
• Develop and support integrations using Salesforce REST/SOAP APIs and other integration technologies.
• Use Git, sandboxes and CI/CD processes for version control, validation, testing and deployment, helping to reduce manual release steps and deployment risk.
• Support and improve Salesforce platform reliability, maintainability, governance and technical best practice.
• Work directly with business users to understand requirements, resolve platform issues and translate needs into high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Carry out general Salesforce platform activities including validation rules, queues, assignment rules, templates, data migration, reports and dashboards.
• Integrate, maintain and administer business applications connected to Salesforce, such as Formstack, Survey Monkey, SMS Magic and RIO.
• Raise, monitor and resolve support cases with Salesforce Support and assist with Salesforce-related Service Desk tickets.
• Develop capability in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and progressively support Journey Builder, user management, data extensions, lists, data quality, platform support and governance.
• Support and maintain data synchronisation between Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud, working with business teams to ensure data is accurate and appropriately governed.
• Support business users in the effective use of Marketing Cloud while business teams retain ownership of campaign content and marketing decisions.
• Collaborate with Salesforce Developers, Solution Architects and other IT teams on integrations, platform improvements and delivery.
• Maintain appropriate technical and operational documentation and follow Salesforce engineering, security and release best practices.

ABOUT YOU

• Salesforce Platform Developer I or equivalent demonstrable development experience.
• Salesforce Administrator certification or strong demonstrable Salesforce administration capability is desirable.
• Marketing Cloud certification is desirable but not required.
• Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience, including Apex, SOQL and Lightning technologies.
• Practical Salesforce administration experience including users, permissions, security, objects, fields, configuration and Flow.
• Experience working with integrations and APIs, including REST and/or SOAP.
• Experience using Git and working within a structured deployment or CI/CD process.
• Experience identifying opportunities to automate repeatable technical or administrative activities.
• Strong engineering and problem-solving mindset, with a focus on automation, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Data management and relational database knowledge, including data formats, joins and ETL concepts.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce development, deployment and platform best practices.
