REED ELSEVIER SHARED SERVICES (PHILIPPINES) INC. is seeking a pricing and deal desk professional to enhance B2B pricing, support proactive deal pricing, and improve proposal competitiveness. You will collaborate with Sales, Finance, Product, Content, Marketing, and Operations in a hybrid work setup.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, AI-enabled tooling, and process improvements to optimize margins and streamline back-office operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Finance or Accounting or a related field, with an interest in financial analysis and business operations.
• Relevant experience in pricing, deal support, or contract review, understanding of profit and loss statements, revenue, and cost drivers, and their impact on margin analysis and profitability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support business decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to organize, analyze, and present information accurately.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools or a willingness to learn how they can be used to improve workflows, automate routine tasks, and support decision-making.
• Experience creating reports, maintaining data, and working with large datasets; ability to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a variety of audiences.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to build positive working relationships across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Enhance B2B pricing strategies and support proactive deal pricing.
• Adapt and evolve deal review process for evolving go to market strategies.
• Manage B2B deal review process as the key contact between Sales, Finance and Operations.
• Develop and implement analytical tools and AI-driven automation to streamline processes.
• Produce data-driven value propositions and integrate them into sales materials across teams.
• Drive implementation of strategic initiatives and monitor progress of projects and deliverables.
• Provide oversight of the deal review process to ensure policy compliance.
• Review and process Deal Desk requests ensuring information is complete and accurate.
• Validate business justifications, pricing details, and financial impact for each Deal Desk request.
• Serve as primary contact between Sales, Finance, and Operations during deal reviews.
• Maintain and understand financial models quantifying the impact of Deal Desk requests.
• Ensure Deal Desk requests are reviewed in accordance with audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance B2B bid and pricing strategies by developing advanced pricing capabilities that support proactive deal pricing, improve proposal competitiveness, optimize margins, and streamline supporting systems and back-office operations. In addition, provide negotiation support to Sales as needed.

• Adapt and evolve deal review process for evolving go to market strategies (e.g. Elsevier 360, Elsevier Edge, Elsevier Emerge & Elsevier Essentials)

• Manage B2B deal review process by acting as the key contact point between Sales, Finance and Operations. Identify and implement opportunities for making the deal review process more impactful.

• Develop and implement easy-to-use analytical tools and reporting capabilities, leveraging AI-driven automation to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance decision-making.

• Produce clear, data-driven customer value propositions and integrate them into sales support materials by working cross-functionally with product, content, marketing, and sales teams.

• Drive the implementation of strategic initiatives and monitor progress of projects and key deliverables, while effectively managing stakeholders across the organization

• Provide oversight of the deal review process to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

• Review and process Deal Desk requests submitted by the Sales team, ensuring all required information is complete, accurate, and sufficient for informed decision making

• Validate business justifications, pricing details, and financial impact for each Deal Desk request prior to routing for approval

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the Sales, Finance, and Operations teams throughout the deal review process

• Maintain and understand financial models that quantify the financial implications of Deal Desk requests and provide a consistent framework for approver decision making

• Ensure all Deal Desk requests are reviewed in accordance with audit compliance requirements
