Job summary

Omicron electronics GmbH is seeking a senior sales professional to advance revenue and expand market share across Mexico. You will build strong customer relationships, coordinate visits and demonstrations, and collaborate with Area Sales Managers to meet regional targets.

You will travel up to 50% to support customers, train partners, and present OMICRON products and testing methodologies. Strong English/Spanish skills and engineering background are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in power systems, especially protection relay testing or on-site testing and field diagnostics of high voltage apparatus.
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience in selling testing equipment, instrumentation, or apparatus for the electric power industry.
  • Participation in international, national, regional, and local conferences, exhibits, or seminars.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business strategies to increase revenue and advance the market share of OMICRON.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving customer relationships within Mexico.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve relationships with key accounts within the designated area as assigned by the Area Sales Manager.
  • Establish initial communication with qualified contacts to help arrange customer visits.
  • Follow up on sales activities at market events such as conferences, user meetings, seminars, and exhibitions.
  • Perform on-site demonstrations and assist in post-sale customer training.
  • Update and maintain Customer Relationship Management tools (CRM).
  • Provide updates on all job-related activities to the Area Sales Manager as needed.
  • Provide support for customers as required for the Mexican territory, as assigned by the Area Sales Manager.
  • Become technically proficient in OMICRON products and solutions to best meet market demands and industry requirements.
  • Act as customer product training instructor as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support sales partner companies in sales activities, training, and quotations.
  • Coordinate promotional activities and participation at conferences, user meetings, seminars, and local exhibits.
  • Coordinate customer visits and activities, make presentations, demonstrate products, technologies, and test methodologies, and provide post-sale customer support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • At least 5 years of experience in power systems, especially in the fields of protection relay testing or on-site testing and field diagnostics of high voltage apparatus.
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience in selling testing equipment, instrumentation, or apparatus for the electric power industry.
  • Participation in international, national, regional, and local conferences, exhibits, or seminars.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Technical knowledge of protection, automation, and control products, applications and testing methodologies and practices
  • Ability to schedule and plan strategically or react quickly to a changing working sales environment.
  • Knowledge of power generation, transmission and distribution systems and the various apparatus used within these systems.
  • Ability to present products, technologies and test methodologies to technicians, engineers, supervisors, managers and executives via telephone, email, visits, exhibits or webinars.
  • Ability to perform products demonstrations on-site with or without the assistance of Application Engineers.
  • Reputable business and work ethics and personal character.
  • Goal and team oriented – willingness to work collectively with others to achieve corporate, regional and personal goals.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the organization and business processes employed by electric power companies, government agencies, manufacturers, and industrial consumers of bulk power in the Latin American market.
  • A solid working knowledge of MS Office – especially Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Languages: Spanish; English; Portuguese (desirable)
  • Excellent written, speech, presentation and negotiating skills in English required.
  • Intensive national traveling and international travel may be required. Ability to travel (up to 50%)

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; or certification of completion of an electronic or electrical technical education is preferred.
