I. PURPOSE
We are seeking a competent and results-driven professional to join our team and support occupational safety and health initiatives.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Policy Development and Compliance
- Develop and implement safety policies in accordance with local regulations such as DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards.
- Ensure compliance with government laws and industry requirements.
- Regularly review and update safety procedures to address emerging risks and regulatory changes.
2. Risk Assessment and Hazard Control
- Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Perform risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for incidents such as fires, accidents, or natural disasters.
3. Training and Education
- Organize and conduct safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Promote safety awareness through workshops, toolbox meetings, and campaigns.
- Ensure proper training on the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
4. Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe practices.
- Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
5. Monitoring and Auditing
- Conduct regular safety audits across all sites.
- Track safety performance indicators such as incident rates and lost-time cases.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and incidents.
6. Coordination and Communication
- Serve as liaison between management, employees, and regulatory agencies.
- Work closely with project teams to integrate safety into daily operations.
- Report safety performance and compliance status to senior management.
7. Health and Wellness Oversight
- Monitor workplace conditions affecting employee health, including ergonomics and exposure risks.
- Implement occupational health and wellness programs.
- Support mental health and stress management initiatives in high-risk environments.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
A. Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- Postgraduate training or certifications in safety management is an advantage.
- Must be a DOLE-accredited Safety Officer (SO4).
- International certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor are a plus.
B. Experience / Training
- 2-5 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries.
- Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits.
C. Technical Competencies
- Knowledge of OSH standards, environmental regulations, and emergency preparedness.
- Ability to perform hazard identification and implement risk control measures.
- Proficient in preparing safety reports, manuals, and training materials.
