• Evaluate current safety protocols and measures in place.
• Ensure that safety and health standards, as prescribed by the OSHS and DOLE, are consistently followed.
• Assist in the implementation of safety and health programs, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor incidents of workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
• Prepare and maintain records, reports, and documents related to safety and health.
• Report any violations or unsafe practices to the appropriate personnel or department.
• Conduct or assist in conducting safety orientation and training sessions for new employees or whenever necessary.
• Promote awareness of safety and health measures among the workforce.
• Provide basic first aid treatment or assist in emergency situations until professional medical help arrives.
• Participate in emergency drills and ensure that employees are familiar with evacuation procedures.
• Coordinating with DOLE and other related agencies on safety matters.
• Stay updated with safety rules and regulations and ensure compliance.
• Participate in safety meetings and be part of the company’s safety committee.

What a Safety Officer Looks Forward to Doing Well

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization strictly adheres to safety regulations set by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), that every employee is well informed about safety protocols, ensuring that each worker has the tools they need to succeed in a safe workplace.

• Conduct or assist in conducting safety orientation and training sessions for new employees or whenever necessary.
• Promote awareness of safety and health measures among the work forces.
• Provide basic first aid treatment or assist in emergency situations until professional medical help arrives.
• Participate in emergency drills and ensure that employees are familiar with evacuation procedures.
• Coordinating with DOLE and other related agencies on matters concerning workplace safety and health.
• Stay updated with the latest rules and regulations set by these bodies and ensure compliance.
• Participate in safety meetings and be a part of the company’s safety committee, if present.
• Advocate of the importance of safety and health and motivate employees to participate in safety programs and initiatives.
• Ensure that safety equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are available, properly maintained, and used appropriately.
• Participate in investigations of accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Compliance with e-Tap's safety, security, and information security protocols.
• Perform other job-related functions or duties that may be assigned by superiors from time to time.
