Job summary

VRI Crew is seeking a qualified Safety Officer 3 to lead on-site safety programs for construction, energy, or industrial projects in Currimao, Ilocos Norte.

The role requires a DOLE SO3 accreditation, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, and at least 5 years of relevant experience; renewable energy or BESS project exposure is a plus.

You will conduct risk assessments, lead toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with OSH standards, with on-site shifting schedules as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related field.
• SO3 accreditation with DOLE standards.
• 40-hour BOSH training completed.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in construction, energy, or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of Philippine OSH laws and standards (e.g., DOLE OSH Standards, RA 11058).
• Experience in safety management systems and incident investigations.
• Familiar with high-risk activities such as electrical works, confined spaces, working at heights, lifting operations, and battery systems safety.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; able to enforce safety compliance among workers and contractors.
• Proficient in MS Office and safety reporting tools.

Job description

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Must be an accredited Safety Officer 3 (SO3) in accordance with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) standards
• Completed mandatory 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training plus additional SO3-required certifications
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in construction, energy, or industrial projects; experience in renewable energy or BESS projects is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Philippine OSH laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., DOLE OSH Standards, RA 11058)
• Experience in implementing safety management systems, hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation
• Familiarity with high-risk activities such as electrical works, confined space, working at heights, lifting operations, and battery systems safety
• Knowledge of fire safety, emergency response planning, and hazardous materials handling (including lithium-ion battery risks)
• Ability to conduct safety inspections, audits, and toolbox meetings
• Strong documentation and reporting skills (incident reports, safety reports, compliance records)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to enforce safety compliance among workers and contractors
• Proficient in MS Office and safety reporting tools
• Willing to be assigned on-site and work in shifting schedules if required
