Job summary

Ocean Fast Ferries Inc is seeking a Health and Safety Emergency Response Officer to provide basic health care to employees and manage safety programs across offices, vessels and port premises.

You will respond to emergencies, transport patients to medical facilities when needed, and train staff on first aid and emergency response competencies. Willingness to travel and uphold confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• College Level or Graduate of any health-related 4-year course.
• Must have completed training on the following from an DOH-recognized training provider.
• Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Training - Basic
• We also welcome non-medical courses graduates as long as candidate has at least 1 year work experience as Health and Safety Emergency Response Officer.
• Strong technical knowledge in safety concepts such as risk management, incident investigation and management.
• Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and integrity
• Shows maturity and has compassion for people
• Can set priorities, keen on details, has initiative
• Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
• A proactive team player with strong commitment to deadline, resourceful, and result-driven

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor health and wellness programs and policies for the employees
• Provide emergency care and treatment of employees and guests seeking health assistance and/or injured (includes first aid, checking of vital signs, health interview, dispensing of medicine, etc.); accompany them to the nearest hospital, if needed
• Develop, implement and monitor Occupational Safety & Health Programs
• Conduct shore-based safety investigation of all accidents and near-misses to gather evidences, document findings and recommendations based on the investigation results.
• Provide assistance to government agencies in the conduct of shore-based safety and health inspection, accident investigation or any other related programs
• Facilitate the processing of documents for the Group Insurance/HMO Provider (enrollment, claims, deletions, and others)

Additionally, you responsible for taking care of the sick or injured in emergency medical settings. You respond to emergency calls, performing, medical servives and transporting patients to medical facilities. Educates and train employees on the first aid basic on needed emergency medical response competencies.
