Job summary

JMV Mining & Development Corporation is seeking a Safety Engineer for its Argao mining operations in Cebu, Philippines. The role oversees safety compliance, inspections, and regulatory requirements, reporting to the Operations Manager.

You will conduct audits, lead toolbox talks, coordinate with agencies, and support ECC and permitting efforts while ensuring a safe work environment for site personnel.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid mining engineer license.
• Experience in mining operations, safety compliance, or permitting preferred.
• Licensed fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Knowledge of mining safety regulations (OSHS, DOE) and environmental compliance is an advantage.
• Willing to be assigned and stay at the Argao mine site.

Responsibilities

• Act as Safety Engineer for three small-scale mining permittees.
• Implement and monitor company safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies on safety compliance, inspections, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and violations, and recommend corrective actions to the Operations Manager.
• Prepare and submit required safety, legal, and regulatory reports to the DOE and other agencies.
• Conduct surface and underground surveys using a Brunton compass and tape.
• Facilitate ECC, permitting, and other compliance-related concerns.
• Supervise safety inspectors and report directly to the Operations Manager.
